How does the process work?

Smart Business Cards are completely custom designed with your company logo and brand guidelines. After you place your order, we will work with you on the design and content. You will receive a digital print proof for approval before the production process begins. To find out more you can contact us on +353 87 9021808.

What are the cards made of?

We have a selection of card materials available, ranging from sustainable PLA, bamboo, metal and recyclable PVC. Each card contains an NFC chip, which when tapped on most iPhones or Android devices, will display your pre-designed Smart Profile.

What makes the cards "Smart"?

Each Smart Card contains an NFC chip. NFC stands for ‘Near Field Communication’. Most iPhones and Android devices (with the exception of much older models) are NFC Enabled. Which means that they can read NFC chips when they are placed next to them. That’s why when you tap your Smart Card against a mobile device it will display your Smart Profile. No app download is needed. For older phone models that are not NFC Enabled, you can simply scan the QR Code on the card to view your Smart Profile.

Can I update the information on my card?

Yes, absolutely! This is the beauty of having a Smart Business Card – your contact information is always current and up to date! So there is no waste, like with paper business cards when they need updating.

How is your data handled?

Our hosting and infrastructure is with Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Storage.

All data sent to our servers is secured via SSL. During the creation of your Smart Profile (which is what you see when you tap) the data you provide is processed by our servers. For performance improvements we keep the rendered QR Code image for 60 seconds in the cache of our servers. We store your IP address for 7 days in order to process information like location and unique user tracking, furthermore the IP Address is stored in the log files of our servers.

Administrative Access to your QR Code:

SmartCard.ie team members are authorised in specific situations to access your QR Code account when fulfilling administration or customer service requests and tracking errors. This grants them the possibility to view your Smart Profile, including name, numbers and settings. SmartCards.ie will never ask for sensitive information or social media logins. You can choose to share as much or as little you like when creating your Smart Card and profile. All members of our team are regularly trained in privacy and data protection, sensibility and confidentiality.
